Activate your tracker
Claim the device to your account and confirm the first fix, before you install anything.
Do this at the kitchen table, not under a dashboard. Power the tracker on a bench first, confirm it reports, and only then install it. Ten minutes here saves an hour of wondering whether a silent unit is a wiring fault or a coverage problem.
- 1Power it up
Connect the red lead to 12V and the black to ground — a bench supply or the asset itself both work. The status LED begins to blink.
- 2Let it find the sky
Leave it outdoors or on a windowsill for two to three minutes. A first fix from a cold start takes longer than any fix afterwards.
- 3Add it in the dashboard
Assets → Add device. Enter the device ID printed on the label, give the asset a name you would actually say out loud ("Pontoon 22", not "Unit 4"), and pick its type.
- 4Wait for the first report
The asset appears on the map within a couple of minutes. If it does not, see Troubleshooting before you touch the wiring.
Which number is the device ID?
The label carries a 15-digit IMEI. That is the number to enter. Some trackers also print a shorter ID — the last 10 digits of the IMEI — and both refer to the same unit, so either is accepted.
If your short ID begins with a zero, type it exactly as printed. A short ID with the zero dropped is a different device.
Asset type is not cosmetic
The type you choose changes how the tracker is configured. Boats get reduced vibration sensitivity so wave slap does not wake the unit all night. ATVs and side-by-sides get the rollover alarm enabled. Pick the closest match; you can change it later from the asset’s edit screen.
