The live map and trails
Reading the map, following a breadcrumb trail, and replaying a trip.
The map is the screen you will keep open. It shows every asset you have, coloured by what it is doing, and it refreshes itself while you watch.
What the dots mean

| Moving | Reporting and travelling above walking pace |
| Idle | Reporting, not moving. Docked or parked is normal — this is not a warning |
| Offline | No recent report. Out of coverage, powered down, or disconnected |
| Power cut | The relay has been opened, by you or by a geofence rule |
Separately from those, an asset can carry an attention flag: a low battery, or no report in 24 hours. Flags are amber badges rather than a change of state, so a docked boat with a weak battery still reads as docked.
Trails
Select an asset and the map draws its recent breadcrumb trail, tinted by speed. The trail window is adjustable — a few minutes for watching something happen now, several hours for reconstructing an afternoon.
Playback
Switch to a date range and the trail becomes a trip you can scrub through. Stops are detected automatically: anywhere the asset sat still for more than a few minutes inside a small radius is numbered on the map, with its arrival time and duration. This is what you send an insurer, and what settles an argument about how long a rental was actually out.
Occasional GPS noise — an impossible jump, or a fix from too few satellites — is dropped before it reaches the trail, so one bad reading does not put your boat on the interstate.
